How to VolunteerFollowing are some of the specific tasks needing volunteer help over the next 3 months. The 'rebuild' cases have many different tasks available, and are underway currently. If you are available to help, please contact Alan Welch, Director for DANI [(877) 773-0249]
Additional volunteer opportunities exist in temporary housing, fund raising, housing/feeding volunteers, and many other areas. Because of the potentially dangerous conditions in the construction areas, DANI will follow the age guidelines used by the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate: under age 16--limited to clean-up roles; age 16-17--can work in a construction area, but may not use power tools or get on a roof; age 18 and above--no limitations. See the Volunteer Release form for more information. It would be very helpful if each volunteer can bring basic things like a hammer, tape measure, straight and Philips screwdrivers, dust mask, safety glasses, and a utility knife. Larger or more specialized tools are welcome, but we will be sure to have any other needed items available at the work site. To be sure you are contacted as projects develop, please submit the following form for each group. All individuals who volunteer will need to submit these two forms before arriving: Individual Intake Form and Volunteer Release Form. The forms can either be mailed to P.O Box 5281; Lafayette, IN 47903 or emailed as an attachment. If you have additional questions, please contact Alan Welch, Director for DANI [(877) 773-0249].
