Nehemiah PartnersLong-Term Recovery Plan Implementation
Nehemiah Partners are an integral part of the long-term recovery of the DANI area. Nehemiah was a Jewish captive in ancient Persia, elevated to cupbearer for King Artaxerxes. He had a great concern for his people who had returned to Jerusalem. As a layman, he was called by God and granted leave by the King to restore Jerusalem and led the rebuilding of the city walls. God is still looking for people like Nehemiah who will make a difference in difficult places!
A “DANI Project” is created after the Finance Committee approves a family’s case for assistance with unmet needs, as presented to them by the assigned caseworker. The case will include a detailed description of the need, the resources already received and available, and a long-term plan for recovery. The case will also detail the needed resources, including materials, labor, and other items. Once a DANI project has been created, the DANI Director will identify a Nehemiah Partner church or service organization to come along side of the project family. If additional labor is needed, an outside volunteer group will also be assigned. Together, the project family, the DANI caseworker, the DANI team, the partner organization, and the volunteer groups will work to implement the recovery plan. A brochure describing this program is available. Contact Alan H. Welch, Director, for more information.
